It began with one man's conviction. Arun Kovuru, our Visionary Founder & Chairman — a trained electrical engineer with years of experience across the electrical industry and real estate — could see clearly what others in the market were missing: India's buildings were growing faster than the quality of its elevator industry could keep pace. Independent companies were reselling or assembling without real engineering depth. MNC brands were expensive, slow to respond, and disconnected from the buildings they served.

In 2005, he founded Surya Elevators with a precise brief: build elevators with the technical rigour that global brands promised, but with the proximity, accountability, and understanding of Indian buildings that only a homegrown company could deliver. As Surya grew — in installations, in cities, in customer trust — that ambition deepened. In 2013, the company made a defining investment: its own manufacturing facility, equipped with precision CNC cutting and bending machinery and staffed by a trained engineering workforce. From that point, Surya controlled every step — from fabricated component to commissioned installation.

Two decades on, that founding conviction has produced one of South India's largest and fastest growing independent elevator companies — 12,000+ installations, and a 250-strong team of engineers and technicians who carry the same standards the company was built on. Today, Surya serves individual builders, developers, hospitals, schools, commercial complexes, and warehouses — from small buildings to mid-rise townships — across Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
